Event Information

CBI is committed to hosting and facilitating a wide variety of brilliant book-themed events for both children and adults too! In addition to the Children's Book Festival every October and our annual Summer Conference in May, we also run a series of other exciting events throughout the year, such as regional author tours and Arts Centre activity days.

In 2007 CBI assisted in staging:

  • Two ‘Read All Over' books activity days with The Linen Hall Arts Centre in Castlebar and The Ark Children's Cultural Centre in Dublin.
  • Two school visits by performance poet Valerie Bloom, in collaboration with Poetry Ireland.
  • A Darren Shan author tour to The Belltable Arts Centre in Limerick, The Linen Hall and The Mill Theatre, Dundrum.
  • An author session with CBI Bisto Award winner John Boyne at The Ark, with two schools groups involved with the Shadowing Scheme.
  • Farmleigh 'Picture The Story' Day (see below)
  • The Children's Book Festival, featuring over 1500 book-themed events over four weeks nationwide!

To find out more about what's in store for the coming months please check our on-line events calendar.
