This year CBI has joined forces with Octocon, Ireland’s National Science Fiction Convention, to present an exciting programme of events for young people. Octocon has a long tradition of including children’s authors and are eager to explore new and exciting ways to bring science fiction and fantasy writing to children.

The Convention runs from 18-19 October at the Royal Dublin Hotel on O’Connell Street in Dublin city centre, with performances and activities also planned to take place in the Science Gallery on Pearse Street.

Already confirmed to appear are guest of honour Ken MacLeod, author of The Engines of Light trilogy, The Fall Revolution series and most recently The Execution Channel. Other guests are John Vaughan, Peader Ó Guilín, Derek Gunn, Michael Carroll, Rob Curley, C.E. Murphy, Sarah Rees Brennan and Harry Harrison.

More details will be posted in the coming months. In the meantime, be sure to check out Octocon’s website for more information.
