Kids Own in Fermoy

Kids Own are keeping a great regular blog of their time as part of Children's Book Festival - they are blogging words, pictures and video over on - http://www.journal.kidsown.ie/journals/7

Its well worth a visit to get some feedback from kids, teachers and artists. Here's  what Orla  and Mary from Kidsown had to say about their first stop in Fermoy

Our first three workshops in Fermoy got off to a fantastic start, in fact all the girls we met so far are fans of Fermoy, the Blackwater River, the Fermoy girls footabll team, the park and lots more. Children in Fermoy have come from far and wide, Poland, Moldova, Lituania Ghana and more. There are Travellers and settled children all delighted to be in our book. We have heaps of jokes, stories, facts and fiction to get started on as well as brilliant art work.

We are working in the Fermoy library with fantastic librarians who are too shy to go on camera. But they have been very helpful and don't seem to mind the buzz of children and the floor littered with scraps of paper. Don't worry, we clean up every day.

What a fantastic start to our book. See you in Clon, Stillorgan, Deansgrange, Castelbar, Ballyhaunis, Letterkenny and Falcarragh.
